Fujikura Specialty Splicers

Fujikura specialty splicers are designed for fibre types and splice tasks that sit outside standard telecom installation work. The range is built around the FSM-100 platform and supporting stripping, cleaning, cleaving and recoating tools for R&D, factory, PM fibre, PANDA fibre, large-diameter fibre and other demanding precision fibre workflows.

FSM-100 Specialty Splicer Platform

The FSM-100 platform sits at the core of Fujikura specialty splicers. It covers standard and polarisation-maintaining (PM) fibre applications, supports demanding alignment needs, and extends into larger cladding diameters and more advanced viewing options depending on model selection.

FSM100P+

FSM-100P+

The most advanced FSM-100 option for PM fibre work, combining rotational alignment capability with more detailed end-face observation. A strong fit for complex research, development and production workflows, supporting fibre cladding diameters from 60 to 1200 μm.

Preparation Tools for Specialty Fibres

Fujikura specialty splicers are part of a wider preparation workflow that includes stripping, cleaning and fibre handling before splicing. This matters especially in R&D and production work with polarisation-maintaining fibres, thin fibres, large-diameter fibres and other specialty fibre types where repeatability depends on the full process, not only the splicer.

SS100

SS110 — Specialty Fiber Stripper

Designed for precise fibre stripping before specialty splicing, where controlled preparation helps protect fibre quality and process consistency. Well suited to research, development and production environments working with demanding specialty fibre types and repeatable workflows.

PCS-100

PCS-100 / PCS-100L — Polyimide Coating Strippers

Designed for polyimide coating stripping in specialty fibre workflows where clean and repeatable preparation is essential before cleaving and splicing. Well suited to research, development and production work with heat-resistant and other demanding fibre constructions.

APM-101

APM-101 / 102 — Automatic Fibre Preparation Machines

Designed for automated fibre preparation before specialty splicing, combining stripping, cleaning and cleaving in one controlled workflow. Both support 125 μm fibre with 250 μm coating, with preparation times of as little as 18 seconds.

UCS-03

USC-03 — Ultrasonic Cleaner

A simple and cost-effective tool for cleaning optical fibre with acoustically vibrated alcohol before splicing. Well suited to factory, OEM and field use, combining a built-in 0–99 second timer, 50 kHz vibration unit, compact 1 kg design and 24 to 36 cc cleaning tank capacity.

Precision Cleavers for Specialty Fibres

Fujikura specialty splicers are supported by cleavers for different fibre diameters, cleave geometries and process requirements. The range covers standard precision cleaving, large-diameter fibre work, compact optical fibre cleavers and the broader Nyfors cleaver portfolio now presented within Fujikura’s specialty lineup.

CT110

CT110 / CT111 — Advanced Optical Fiber Cleavers

Designed for high-quality cleaving of fibres with 80 to 250 μm cladding diameter, with angled cleaving on CT111. Well suited to precision specialty fibre work where repeatable results and easier setup help support research, development and production environments.

CT115

CT114 / CT115 / CT116 — Large Diameter Cleavers

Designed for precision cleaving of larger fibre formats, covering cladding diameters from 80 to 660 μm and up to 1250 μm, with angled cleaving on CT116. Well suited to large-diameter fibre workflows where stable operation and broader fibre support matter.

CT58

CT52 / CT58 — Optical Fiber Cleavers

Designed for cleaving single-core optical fibres with 125 μm and 80 μm cladding diameters. Spacer-based adjustment allows 3–5 mm or 8–10 mm cleave lengths for shorter splicing points, while CT52 supports short fibre protrusion cleaving and CT58 is intended for 80 μm clad diameter fibre work.

Recoating and Splice Protection

Fujikura specialty splicers are supported by recoating tools that rebuild fibre protection after splicing. The active specialty lineup includes FSR115, FSR115L, FSR116 and FSR117 for workflows where recoating length, handling protection and proof testing all matter.

FSR115

FSR115 / FSR115L — Optical Fiber Recoaters

Designed to recoat splice points with UV-curable resin for easier fibre handling and storage after splicing. A practical fit for specialty fibre workflows where restored protection is needed, with FSR115L extending recoating length beyond the standard 50 mm lenght.

FSR116

FSR116 / FSR117 — Fiber Recoaters with Proof Test

Designed for recoating and proof testing in one workflow, helping protect and verify spliced fibres before further handling. FSR116 supports proof testing from 0.2 to 2.0 kgf, while FSR117 extends this to 0.2 to 10.0 kgf for more demanding applications.

Where Fujikura Specialty Splicers Fit

Fujikura specialty splicers are built for fibre preparation, cleaving, splicing and recoating workflows that go beyond standard telecom installation work. They fit best where fibre geometry, coating type, alignment accuracy or post-splice handling place higher demands on the full process.
